Medical Director, Dr. Stuart Weiss
Dr. Stuart Weiss is the founder of MedPrep Consulting Group and has over 35 years of experience in pediatrics, emergency medicine and disaster medicine and over a decade of experience in planning, training, exercising and education in areas related to disaster preparedness, hazardous materials, and the consequences of man-made and natural public health emergencies. He has been directly involved in the education of physicians, nurses, medical planners and hospital leaders as they prepare to receive and treat victims of large scale disasters. Dr. Weiss has played an active role within the business community helping them prepare for acts of terrorism and pandemic influenza. Dr. Weiss combines his vast medical experience with his business continuity expertise and brings this unique insight to his clients. He has worked with many Federal and State government entities, national organizations and businesses which include the US Department of Homeland Security, The US Department of Transportation, the US Defense Department, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NJ Department of Health, the American College of Emergency Physicians, Business Executives for National Security (BENS), Roche Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Entergy, NJ Hospital Association, the Gateway Chamber of Commerce, The American Legislative Exchange, The Council of State Governments and the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women.
Dr. Weiss’ education and training include board certification in Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, special training in the medical care of people injured by radiation and biological or chemical weapons, and training in business continuity planning from Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII). Dr. Weiss is frequently called upon to speak at national and regional meetings on business continuity and natural or man-made disasters as well as pandemic influenza. Finally, he has helped design and run many exercises on the national and local levels.
